To ensure that our customers have access to the full range of transport modes, 5 Oceans provides rail freight service from Asia to Europe and the UK that allows you to significantly save on transit time.

5 Oceans offers a smoothly-run transcontinental railway service from Central China (Shanghai/Ningbo), Northern China (Qingdao/Tianjin/Xingang), South Korea and Japan through the mainland of the Russian Federation that takes around 21 days, compared to the 35-40 day timeframe provided by standard sea carriage.

Below is a description of the route for the containers travelling from Korea and Japan to the UK or any European port:

⦁ The container is delivered to the local seaport of the exporting country, then brought by sea to the Port of Vostochny, located in the far east of Russia.

⦁ The container is unloaded from the vessel containers and shunted into the customs control zone to await formalisation of internal customs transit and consolidation with other consignments to form a complete block train before travelling through the Trans-Siberian Railway corridor.

⦁ Once the cargo arrives at the sea terminal in St. Petersburg, it is next prepared for the short sea carriage by regular feeder lines at London Gateway Port, Tilbury, Southampton (UK) or any other European port. From there, the containers are finally distributed to the end customer.

The total transit time recorded for this service ranges from 18 to 21 days, whereas by sea it takes more than 38 days to transport cargo through the Suez Canal.

The mission of 5 Ocean Logistics is to provide customers with high quality, effective and integrated solutions for delivery of goods by use of rail modality with particular emphasis on time efficiency and reliability. If you are interested in working with us, please contact us for a quote.
